2026 Local Elections: our pledges to you

Islington Liberal Democrats have published their top 10 pledges for the 2026 local elections, building on the manifesto published in 2022.

Party Chair and leading candidate Kate Pothalingam explains:

‘In 2022, we published our manifesto Listening to Islington, a comprehensive set of practical policies for the borough, ranging from improved support for carers to a greener way of handling our waste.

‘Now, in 2026, we stand by those policies. Our common sense focus on getting basic services right, protecting the environment and ensuring value for money is more important than ever.

‘For these elections we have drawn out ten leading pledges, which it will be the mission of Liberal Democrat councillors in Islington to deliver. Working for Islington is our promise to you, the voters of our borough.

‘Developed in response to your wishes, your priorities and the challenges you face, these pledges demonstrate that it’s the Liberal Democrats who are truly on your side.’
